Microsoft Adds Movable Taskbar to Windows 11 for Insiders

Microsoft has rolled out a new feature allowing Windows 11 users to move the taskbar to any screen edge, according to a ZDNet report. The update, available to Windows Insider Program participants, enables placement of the taskbar on the top, bottom, left, or right sides of the display. The feature marks an interface change for the operating system, though Start menu modifications previously announced by Microsoft remain pending.

The update reflects Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to refine Windows 11 based on user feedback. The company has faced requests for taskbar flexibility since the 2021 launch of Windows 11. Enterprise and consumer users in the U.S., where Windows remains the dominant desktop OS, will eventually gain access to the feature following its insider testing phase.
