AWS Launches Custom Code Evaluators for Bedrock AgentCore
Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a new capability in Amazon Bedrock AgentCore that allows developers to build custom code-based evaluators for AI agents. The feature, detailed in a blog post published October 2023, enables users to create evaluators for tasks like financial market-intelligence agents, integrate with AWS services, and combine custom evaluators with built-in tools.
The update lets developers implement Lambda-based evaluators for on-demand and online modes of operation. Example use cases include grounded fact-checking, personally identifiable information (PII) detection, and real-time alerting through AWS service integrations. The post demonstrates creating four custom evaluators for a financial market-intelligence agent and shows how to combine them with existing AgentCore evaluation tools.
AWS said the feature addresses growing demand from enterprise developers and financial sector users working on AWS infrastructure. The capability expands Bedrock AgentCore’s ability to validate and refine AI agent outputs through customizable evaluation workflows.
Bedrock AgentCore is a component of AWS’s Amazon Bedrock service, which provides tools for building and managing generative AI agents. The new evaluators extend developers’ ability to tailor agent behavior to domain-specific requirements.
