IBM Consulting Launches Agentic AI Platform Built on AWS
IBM Consulting on Monday announced what it called the industry’s first enterprise-scale agentic AI platform natively integrated with Amazon Web Services, according to IBM.
The platform is designed to help large enterprises deploy agentic AI systems — software that can independently plan, reason and execute complex tasks — at scale within AWS cloud environments, according to IBM.
IBM Consulting said the platform combines its consulting expertise with AWS’s cloud computing capabilities to offer turnkey agentic AI infrastructure for enterprise customers.
The partnership comes as enterprise adoption of agentic AI has grown in 2026, with companies moving beyond chatbot implementations toward AI systems capable of autonomous decision-making and multi-step task execution.
Market Context
The IBM-AWS collaboration enters a field where major technology firms including Microsoft, Google and Salesforce are also delivering enterprise agentic AI platforms. The native AWS integration targets organizations already operating within Amazon’s cloud ecosystem.
Gartner and other research firms have identified agentic AI as a top technology trend. Unlike traditional AI assistants that respond to individual prompts, agentic systems can orchestrate workflows, interact with multiple software tools and adapt their approach based on results.
Implications
The announcement comes as enterprise agentic AI moves from proof-of-concept to production-ready deployments. IBM Consulting is one of the world’s largest technology services firms.
The partnership also reflects AWS’s strategy of working with systems integrators to bring AI capabilities to enterprise customers, rather than relying solely on direct sales of its own AI services.
