Music-agent platform Suede AI settles payments per call, not on verified outcome

Suede AI publishes three machine-payable endpoints priced in stablecoin per call; the site describes no mechanism that withholds payment if the output fails, and no audit trail beyond a hypothetical rights-tracking example.

Suede AI, a music- and media-generation agent built by Suede Labs AI, publishes three machine-payable endpoints on the x402 protocol — for music, video and image generation — priced $0.15 to $4.99 per call in its live manifest, according to an AI Dispatch review completed Oct. 4. Payment settles in USDC on the Base blockchain under the EIP-3009 authorization standard, the company's site states.

The arrangement is a real settlement rail: an AI agent can call Suede's endpoints and pay for them programmatically through the Model Context Protocol, without a human initiating the transaction. But nothing on the site conditions that payment on the delivered work meeting any standard. Payment is per call, on delivery — the agent is billed whether or not the output is usable.

Suede's site also describes, without claiming to provide, a system for proving who created a given piece of work. "A file fingerprint can identify exact bytes; it does not register ownership, publish terms, or grant a license," the site states, and a dated file fingerprint and documented consent context "may support an evidence trail if an unauthorized clone circulates." A proof-of-creation record, the site says, "can combine a file fingerprint, timestamp, creator claim, contributors, and published terms" — a description of what such a record could contain, not a statement that Suede keeps one. The company states plainly that "no action on this page registers a work, grants a license, or routes royalties."

Use of Suede's paid endpoints requires owner sign-off: "terms require owner approval," the site states. The product targets "music and media" customers and integrates with Base, Stripe, Google Cloud, Chainlink and LayerZero, according to the site.

AI Dispatch's trust-gap rubric, which scores vendors zero to three on five dimensions with evidence required for every score, found no public claim of a retained, auditable record of what an agent did or produced through Suede's endpoints, and no mechanism that releases payment only on a verified result. The rubric is published at aidispatch.news/methodology.
