Screen-recording tool Clipy publishes a disclaimed benchmark and discloses no insurance or certification

Clipy packages screen recordings into agent-readable reports for tools like Claude Code and Codex. Its own 20-trial benchmark carries an explicit disclaimer, and its site contains no mention of insurance, compliance or audit terms.

Clipy, a screen-recording tool pitched at both human teams and coding agents, publishes a benchmark result with an explicit disclaimer about how far it generalizes, according to its site.

"Clipy is an agent-readable screen recorder for Mac, Chrome, and the web," the company says, "so the same link gives agents structured context from a native app, terminal, simulator, or browser tab." Each share link stays both "a video your team watches and a .md report your agents read." Customers can "set up Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor in one command and they capture their own work," and the company ships a command-line tool and an MCP server "for private recordings, library search, and authenticated inline frame access." Recordings are "unlisted by default, so only people with the link can view," and a user "can delete any recording at any time," per the company's site.

On performance, Clipy discloses more about its own limits than most vendors in AI Dispatch's index. "In Clipy's controlled coding benchmark, structured recording context outperformed transcript-only input on one synthetic UI task," the company says. "The report includes the recording, context, scoring criteria, and results from 20 primary trials with Codex. It does not establish the same improvement for every task, model, or competing tool."

The product is "Free to start, no card," with recording past a usage allowance requiring "Pro at $9/mo." Clipy says it is "Backed by Codersera, building developer tools for 10+ years," and its site displayed self-tracked counters of "529,050 Recordings shared" and "329,550 People creating," including "4,000" recordings "In the last 24h," as of a Sept. 11 capture.

AI Dispatch's trust-gap rubric scores Clipy 1 of 3 on audit trail: the retained, user-deletable recordings are a customer-reviewable record, but one that is the product's own output rather than a governance log, and no tamper-evidence is claimed. Compliance, insurance-indemnity and runtime-governance all score zero. A full-text search of Clipy's homepage, in captures of 13,830 and 10,172 characters taken Sept. 4 and Sept. 11, found no occurrence of "insurance," "certif," "compliance," "indemnif," "audit," "warranty" or "liabilit" in either.
