AI Store Shopper browses under a named bot identity and stops before checkout by design; insurance, compliance and human oversight undisclosed

The $149 checkout-testing agent scopes itself to a merchant's public storefront and names an enforced payment stop, but discloses no compliance certification, insurance backing or human-review process.

AI Store Shopper, a $149 paid checkout-testing agent, walks a merchant's live e-commerce storefront the way a shopper would and is designed to stop before payment, according to the company's site. "A real browser, driven by an AI buying agent, walks your store the way a customer would — and every step is logged," the company states. "The agent stops at your checkout page. It never places an order and never enters payment details."

The vendor identifies the agent in traffic logs rather than running it under a customer account: "It's an authorized visitor to your public storefront only, browsing under a named agent identity ( AIStoreShopperCheck/1.0 )." On the payment limit itself, the company states: "No order is ever placed. The walk stops at your checkout page — nothing is bought, nothing charged on your store." The site does not describe the mechanism that enforces that stop.

The agent also checks a merchant's machine-to-machine commerce readiness. "On Shopify, AI shoppers buy through UCP — a manifest published at /.well-known/ucp . Your report reads that manifest and shows whether your store answers," according to the site, which does not identify who defines or publishes the UCP manifest.

The product is sold to U.S. merchants only — "Available to US merchants only" — as a one-time report, with an optional recurring check: "We re-walk your store every week after that and tell you the day a change breaks the buying path — the first month is included, then $29.99/month."

AI Dispatch's index scores AI Store Shopper's runtime governance at 2 out of 3, based on the disclosed scope and payment limit above. The company's site names no compliance certification, no insurance carrier or liability coverage, and does not disclose a human-review process, multi-agent capability or independent performance evaluation for the agent.
