OpenAI CFO Cites ‘Vertical Wall of Demand’ for AI Products
SAN FRANCISCO — OpenAI’s chief financial officer described demand for the company’s artificial intelligence products as a “vertical wall,” according to Bloomberg.
The characterization from the company’s finance chief reflects interest from both consumers and enterprise customers in OpenAI’s suite of AI products, which includes the widely used ChatGPT chatbot and its API platform for developers.
The comments come as OpenAI continues to scale its operations amid intensifying competition in the AI industry. The company, which launched ChatGPT in late 2022, has been expanding its product lineup and enterprise offerings.
OpenAI has raised tens of billions of dollars in recent funding rounds, reflecting investor interest in its growth prospects.
For the broader AI industry, competitors including Anthropic, Google DeepMind, Meta AI and other firms are vying for market share in the expanding AI sector.
Enterprise adoption of AI tools has seen rapid growth over the past year, with companies across sectors integrating large language models into workflows ranging from customer service to software development and data analysis.
