OpenAI Makes ChatGPT for Clinicians Free for Verified US Health Providers
OpenAI announced it is making ChatGPT for Clinicians available free of charge to verified physicians, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists in the United States, expanding the use of artificial intelligence tools in clinical healthcare settings.
The offering is designed to support healthcare professionals with clinical care, medical documentation, and research tasks, according to a blog post published by the company. The move removes a cost barrier that had limited adoption of AI-powered tools among frontline health workers.
Eligible clinicians must complete a verification process to access the specialized version of ChatGPT, OpenAI said. The company did not immediately disclose the total number of healthcare professionals expected to qualify under the expanded access program.
The announcement marks OpenAI’s most significant push into the healthcare sector to date.
