Sierra Raises Nearly $1B in New Funding Round

Sierra, the enterprise AI agent company co-founded by former Salesforce co-CEO Bret Taylor, has raised nearly $1 billion in new funding just months after its previous capital raise, according to CNBC.

The funding round reflects continued investor appetite for companies building agentic AI platforms, particularly those focused on enterprise customer service automation. Sierra develops conversational AI agents designed to handle customer interactions for large businesses.

Taylor, who also served as chairman of the board at OpenAI and previously held senior roles at Google and Facebook, founded Sierra alongside Clay Bavor, a former Google executive. The company builds autonomous agents capable of managing end-to-end customer service workflows rather than handling simple chatbot interactions.

The raise comes amid increased funding activity for agentic AI companies. Enterprise buyers have shown growing interest in deploying AI agents in customer-facing production roles, CNBC reported.

Details regarding the specific investors in the round and Sierra’s current valuation were not immediately available from the initial report.
