Google Debunks Need for New AI SEO Tactics
Google has dismissed the notion that AI search requires specialized SEO strategies, stating in new documentation that existing best practices remain applicable. The tech giant confirmed that techniques like ‘generative engine optimization’ (GSEO) and ‘answer engine optimization’ (ASEO) are redundant, as its AI-powered search algorithms follow the same indexing and ranking principles as traditional search engines.
According to the company’s updated guidelines, tactics such as creating LLMS.txt files for large language models or segmenting content into ‘chunks’ for AI processing are unnecessary. ‘Our systems already account for these factors through established SEO frameworks,’ a Google spokesperson stated in the documentation, as reported by The Decoder.
This clarification addresses growing speculation in the SEO industry about whether AI search would require new optimization methods. Google emphasized that website owners should continue prioritizing clear metadata, mobile responsiveness, and high-quality content creation.
