AWS Introduces Document-Level ACLs for Amazon Quick Knowledge Bases

AWS announced a new security feature for Amazon Quick knowledge bases that enables enterprises to restrict access to sensitive documents using Amazon S3 document-level access control lists (ACLs). The update, detailed in an AWS AI Blog post, allows organizations to enforce granular permissions across chat and automated workflows, ensuring sensitive data remains protected.

According to the blog post, the feature lets users configure and verify ACL settings for S3 knowledge bases in Amazon Quick. This capability is particularly relevant for U.S.-based enterprises handling regulated data, as it aligns with compliance requirements while streamlining secure document management in AI-driven workflows.

Amazon Quick, part of AWS’s machine learning services, is designed to help businesses build and manage knowledge bases for generative AI applications. The addition of document-level ACLs addresses a key industry need for balancing accessibility with data security in cloud environments.

As reported by AWS, the feature expands AWS’s offerings for secure AI deployment.
